An ontology for automated negotiation

چکیده
ABSTRACT This paper proposes a novel approa h to negotiation, in whi h the negotiation proto ol to adopt is not oded within the agents but it is expressed in terms of a ommon shared ontology that is shared by the agents in order to parti ipate to a negotiation session. The negotiation ontology is de ned in a way general enough to support a wide variety of market me hanisms, thus being parti ularly suitable for exible appli ations su h as ele troni ommer e. The paper des ribes the negotiation ontology and provides a walkthrough example des ribing how the proposed approa h ould be used to model proto ols for au tions.1

An Ontology to support automated negotiation
In this work we propose an ontology to support automated negotiation in multiagent systems. The ontology can be connected with some domain-specific ontologies to facilitate the negotiation in different domains, such as Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), e-commerce, etc. The specific negotiation rules for each type of negotiation strategy can also be defined as part of the ontology, reduc...
متن کاملAn Ontology-Mapping Service for Agent-Based Automated Negotiation
The automation of B2B processes requires a high level of interoperability between potentially disparate systems. We model such systems using software agents (as enterprise’s representative agents), which interact using ACL protocols. This paper presents, in the context of an Electronic Institution, an ontology-mapping service that enables the automation of negotiation protocols where the involv...
متن کاملOntologies for supporting negotiation in e-commerce
In this paper we present our experience in applying Semantic Web technology to automated negotiation. This result is a novel approach to automated negotiation, that is particularly suitable to open environments such as the Internet. In this approach, agents can negotiate in any type of marketplace regardless of the negotiation mechanism in use. In order to support a wide variety of negotiation ...
متن کاملTitle A negotiation protocol to support agent argumentation and ontology interoperability in MAS-based virtual enterprises
The virtual enterprise (VE), which is formed according to some business opportunities through the collaboration of supply chain partners, is an effective way of business operation in the dynamic global market. This paper proposes an automated negotiation protocol for multi-agent system (MAS) based virtual enterprises. Firstly, to facilitate the functional integration of VEs, a MAS framework is ...
متن کاملAgent Communication Language for Automated Negotiation Online
Current research in automated negotiation is lack of a unified technical standard, which is an obstacle for the system to be applied practically. The existing standard KQML (Knowledge Query Manipulation Language) has obvious flaws in its semantics definition; moreover, its function is insufficient for describing negotiation. The contribution of the work is twofold. On one hand, it expands the s...
